Patient Attendant Onboarding and Orientation Materials – FOR NEW HIRES ONLY!

Congratulations on your new assignment as a Patient Attendant at Michigan Medicine! In preparation of your new job, we’ve included some important materials for you to review in advance and have easily accessible while you’re on assignment. Should you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at any time!

Video Monitor Technician (VMT) Training

This additional training ensures that Patient Attendants:

  • know how to use the video monitoring program;
  • understand how HIPAA applies to this role;
  • know how to respond to a patient situation; and
  • understand how to properly maintain the VMT log.

Upon successful completion of the AvaSys Staff Education for Online Learning and the Video Monitor Technician (VMT) Virtual Training Follow-up, a member of the scheduling team will contact you to schedule a time for hands-on training at the VMT station.

Please be sure to review and fully complete all sections of the VMT Training.
