MEOS Shows Positive Trend in U.S. Hiring Plans for Q4 2014

September 9, 2014

The latest Manpower Employment Outlook Survey (MEOS) results indicate that employers expect hiring intentions to remain relatively stable during fourth quarter 2014 compared to third quarter 2014 and slightly increase compared to one year ago at this time.

Among U.S. employers surveyed, 19% expect to add to their workforces, and 7% expect a decline in their payrolls during Q4.  In addition, 72% of employers anticipate making no change to staff levels, and the remaining 2% of employers are undecided about their Q4 hiring plans.

The Manpower Employment Outlook Survey is one of the most trusted surveys of employment activity in the world. Every quarter, we ask more than 18,000 hiring managers about their hiring plans for the next three months. This helps identify the strongest and weakest metropolitan areas, states, and industries for hiring and pursuing jobs.

For more information, or to review the full MEOS results, go to: http://manpowergroup.us/meos/ or visit Manpower’s Press Room:  http://press.manpower.com/.  You can also review local results for Michigan at:  http://press.manpower.com/category/archives/michigan/.

The next Manpower Employment Outlook Survey will be released on December 9, 2014 to report hiring expectations for the first quarter of 2015.
