Workplace Safety for Our Temporary Associates

June 4, 2020

Manpower, Inc. of SE Michigan wants to ensure you’re aware of the responsibilities and precautions that have been put in place to help limit potential exposure and prevent the spread of COVID-19 – keeping yourself and your coworkers safe and healthy in the workplace.

We’re working with our customers regularly to review the safety protocols at our temporary worksites to mitigate exposure risk. Before you are placed on assignment, your staffing specialist will review with you the implemented measures at that worksite so that you can feel comfortable going to work.

We’re also counting on you to follow the guidelines that have been put in place at these worksites. If, at any time, you have concerns about your safety – or the safety of your coworkers – or you are unable/unwilling to comply with any policies, procedures, or practices your worksite has in place, please contact Manpower immediately at 734-665-3757 or staff@manpowermi.com.

While on assignment, is very important to report any new/abnormal symptoms to Manpower immediately. Depending on the symptoms and screening measures that may be in place at the workplace to which you are assigned, you may be required to stay home and not report to work for a defined period of time. These symptoms may include, but are not limited to:

  • A fever over 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or a subjective fever (feeling feverish);
  • Coughing (excluding a cough due to a medical reason other than COVID-19);
  • Shortness of breath;
  • Sore throat;
  • Diarrhea (excluding diarrhea due to a medical reason other than COVID-19); and/or
  • Any other symptom(s) that may be concerning or associated with COVID-19.

Please keep in mind that some worksites may have additional screening questions in place that you may be required to answer, either before confirming you to start that particular assignment or on a daily basis upon entering the worksite. Examples of those screening questions/measures may include, but are limited to, and are subject to change depending on CDC guidelines and/or state/local orders:

  • Have you traveled outside the state, internationally, or to a high-risk area?
  • Have you recently been exposed to or do you live with someone who has tested positive or is presently quarantined?
  • Asking you to sign an acknowledgement and/or statement attesting to the answers of any screening questions/policies in place.

As always, use good hygiene etiquette and follow precautionary measures – not only those that are in place at your worksite but also outside of work. Those may include:

  • Practicing social distancing by staying at least 6 feet apart from your co-workers.
  • Using a face covering or mask when social distancing cannot be maintained.
  • Avoiding touching your face (eyes, nose, and mouth), particularly with unwashed hands.
  • Washing your hands regularly using soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Using hand sanitizer when soap and water are not available.
  • Covering coughs and sneezes with a tissue and washing your hands after.
  • Regularly cleaning and disinfecting surfaces you touch often.
  • Limiting the sharing of tools, work/office equipment, and other commonly used items (pens, phones, etc.).

If you have any questions, concerns, or require additional information related to COVID-19 safety and preventative measures for our temporary associates, please contact us at 734-665-3757 or staff@manpowermi.com.

We look forward to helping you prepare for a safe return to work!
