We’re Making Strides in the Fight Against Breast Cancer
October is here! …and while for many, that means college football, pumpkin spice lattes, and chilly autumn days, for us at Manpower, it means Making Strides in the fight against breast cancer.
For over 10 years, Manpower, Inc. of SE Michigan has been an active supporter of the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and this is our sixth consecutive year as a flagship sponsor! To support our efforts and reach our goal, we organize and host many FUNdraising events throughout the month of October to raise funds for this great cause. Our most popular fundraisers include jean Fridays, a bake sale, a can/bottle drive, a tit-for-tat drawing, and a silent auction. In addition, we have recruited approximately 300 participants to join Team Manpower at the annual 5k walk on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor.
All proceeds go directly to the American Cancer Society to support the efforts to fund groundbreaking research, provide prevention and early detection information, advocate for all women to have access to mammograms and treatment, and offer free programs and services to improve the quality of life for cancer patients and their loved ones.
