Free Health Screening at U-M World Kidney Day Event

March 13, 2014

Celebrated on the second Thursday in March, the mission of World Kidney Day is to raise awareness of the importance of our kidneys to our overall health and to reduce the frequency and impact of kidney disease and its associated health problems worldwide.

In observance of World Kidney Day and National Kidney Month, the University of Michigan Hospital is featuring free health screens in the hospital auditorium (Towsley Center, 2nd floor, near cafeteria).  Stop by between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm for a free exam, patient information, healthy snacks, and chance to win a prize!

Who should come?  Anyone can be impacted by kidney disease at any age, but some people are more likely than others to develop kidney disease.  You have increased risk if you have diabetes, have high blood pressure, have a family history of chronic kidney disease; or are older.
